Silk Road – An Art Journey from Xi’an to Vancouver

Libang Entreprise Union has long been committed to promoting artists’ international cultural exchanges. Libang Art Centre in Xi’an China has been collaborating with Canadian artists through Vancouver Lipont Art Centre since 2013. Now, it is bring six more famous artists from Western China to the multicultural Vancouver to practice art; meeting the local art community, trying out new materials, experiencing the beauty of Canada and capture it in their art. The 19-day trip will provide them with a time of reflection, research, and presentation.
“Silk Road – An Art Journey From Xi’an to Vancouver” is about to kick off on March 14, 2018 at Vancouver Lipont Art Centre. Artists Beiping Guo, Lixian Zhang, Wangping Li, Guodong Han, Xiaoyang Yang, and Jianjun Ke will visit local attractions such as the scenic and artsy Granville Island, Whistler, Gastown, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Vancouver Island. They will also build a meaningful cultural exchange by visiting professionals at local art colleges and art institutions.
After the event, an exhibition of their work completed on the trip will be held at Vancouver Lipont Art Centre from March 29 to 31, 2018. All are welcome. Admission is free.
