Please join us for a presentation and exhibit of “boro,” an ancient and artful form of mending from Japan. Learn about the history of Japanese boro and its origins in the frigid and snowy region of northern Aomori. For the last couple of months, our patrons have been learning these traditional Japanese hand stitching and patching techniques and their creations will be on display. The exhibit celebrates “waste” fabrics in beautiful, humorous and creative ways.
