The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open is about two Indigenous women from vastly different backgrounds who find their worlds colliding on an East Vancouver sidewalk when domestic violence forces one of them, a pregnant teen named Rosie, to flee her home. The Breadwinner is about Parvana, an 11-year-old girl growing up under Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001.
